About Ashley
I am a Jackson Hole mom with a kindergartener and a second grader in our public schools. Like many of you, I want our kids to get a strong education and I want to know that the big decisions made on their behalf are well thought out.
My run began with a simple concern about screen time in the classroom. I started a petition and was moved by how many parents responded. What began as one question grew into something bigger: how decisions get made, how we measure whether they work, and how parents and teachers get a real voice.
- Community leadership: President of the Board of Jackson Hole Youth Soccer, a local nonprofit, after serving as its interim Executive Director.
- Professional background: 18 years in corporate finance and sales, a graduate of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and now part of the team at Income Focus, a local investment advisory firm.
- Life in the valley: Parent, trail runner and endurance athlete who also loves to bike and ski, and who loves raising a family in Teton County.
Our district is excellent. A fresh perspective can help make it even better. I will listen, learn and lead.
My Top Priorities
Strong academic foundations
Every student should graduate with solid reading, writing, math and critical thinking skills.
Intentional technology
Ask whether a tool truly improves learning, then evaluate it honestly after it is in the classroom.
Real partnership
Families, teachers and the district working together, with voices heard before decisions are made.
Where I Stand
Technology with a purpose
Technology can be a great tool, but it should earn its place. I support clear questions up front about what a program is meant to accomplish, and a plan to check the results so we keep what works and rethink what does not. Whatever tools we choose, we must keep our focus on critical thinking, reading and writing, the skills that every other subject is built on.
Decisions that include parents and teachers
The people closest to our students should be consulted early, not informed after the fact. Better communication leads to better decisions and more trust.
Pathways for every student
College is one great path, but not the only one. I support multiple graduation pathways, including trade and technical options and partnerships with local businesses that help students step into careers right here at home.
Transparency and accountability on funding, budget and investment
Families deserve clear answers about how money is spent. That includes the funding gap for the high school addition and the Bronc Achievement Center. I will push for open numbers and plain language so the community can see the full picture.
I also want a steady focus on the budget and on how we invest in our schools. Every major dollar should have a clear purpose, a clear expectation of what it will deliver for students, and a way to check the results and share them with the community.
Get Involved
This campaign is powered by neighbors, parents and teachers. I would love to hear your ideas and your concerns.
